Stewardship Snippet - June 20, 2021
“We have spoken frankly to you Corinthians; our heart is wide open to you. There is no restriction in our affections, but only in yours. In return—I speak as to children—open wide your hearts also.”
2 Corinthians 6:11-13
The give-and-take of relationships rarely stays in perfect 50/50 balance, but rather shifts constantly. Sometimes we give more, and sometimes we need more from others. How do you see your relationships playing out in this post-Covid world? Are you willing to be more flexible?

Exploring the Bible Together***NO CLASS TUESDAY, JUNE 22*** Exploring the Bible Together will not meet on Tuesday, June 22 due to Vacation Bible School. Class will resume on Tuesday, June 29. Look for a new video in our Shema Series in next week's eblast. Join Pastor Jake Fain, Deacon Andrew More, and Pastor Paul Miller as we explore the Bible together. To check out this week's episode in our Shema Series, click on the title above. Different cultures have different conceptions of the human heart and what it is and what it does. The biblical authors are no exception. In this video, we'll explore the ancient Hebrew word for "heart" as well as the different ideas of what our hearts represent. There is no biblical word that better captures the essence of human thought, feeling, and desire, than this rich and wonderful word. To view last week's episode Shema Series: "Love" click HERE. Take a Seat!During the month of July Would you like to help a musician with worship? Peace Lutheran is looking for youth in the congregation who would like to TAKE A SEAT! sitting next to either Jeannie or Marianne during worship while we play the piano. You would be able to help us get our music for the worship service in order by going through the bulletin together, handing the music to us so we can be ready to play at the appropriate time, and possibly even turn pages. We also occasionally need someone to chase down the music that the wind blows off the keyboard. If this describes you, please contact: Marianne Gould, Director of Music Ministry, at marianne@peacenb.org. We will get you signed up to TAKE A SEAT! |
This week's flowers are given by:
Charles and Helen Probst in celebration and gratitude for 68 years of marriage. |
2021 Flower Sign up
Each Sunday a beautiful arrangement of fresh flowers, donated by members and friends of the congregation, adorns the cross in the chancel area of Peace Lutheran Church. A contract with “Petals To Go” Florist in New Braunfels assures timely delivery, quality, and consistency in the arrangements at a very reasonable cost of $40 per arrangement. Flowers may be donated for occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries, in honor or in memory of a loved one, or simply ”To the Glory of God!” The arrangement may be picked up at the church during office hours the following week. For questions, please contact Kathi Anderson (210) 643-8855, the Flower Coordinator for the Worship Team. To sign up for flower donations, click the button below or go to the sign up button at the bottom of Peace's homepage at peacenb.org

Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
