Sunday's Worship PreviewSunday, June 27th Worship Read Mark 5: 21-43 Jairus, a respected leader, begs Jesus to heal his daughter. A woman with a hemorrhage was considered ritually unclean and treated as an outcast. Both Jairus and the unnamed woman come to Jesus in faith, believing in his power to heal and bring life out of death. These two healing stories are very different, and yet intricately connected. Join us on Sunday as we see how God connects us all in the power of God’s wondrous healing in Jesus. |
Sunday Worship Schedule
We are getting closer and closer to worshiping in the building. Although the building revovations will not be finished, we will still have opportunities to move in out of the summer heat and worship indoors. This Sunday 6/27: Beginning 7/4: |
Hacked Email
Pastor Jake’s email was hacked this past week, so if you received a suspicious email asking for funds, it was not from him. Know that the church will not solicit funds via email in some secretive manner. Unfortunately, in our digital world, hackers target public emails of trust like pastors and try to scam kind-hearted people. Sorry for the inconvenience. |

Take a SeatDuring the month of July Would you like to help a musician with worship? Peace Lutheran is looking for youth in the congregation who would like to TAKE A SEAT! sitting next to either Jeannie or Marianne during worship while we play the piano. You would be able to help us get our music for the worship service in order by going through the bulletin together, handing the music to us so we can be ready to play at the appropriate time, and possibly even turn pages. We also occasionally need someone to chase down the music that the wind blows off the keyboard. If this describes you, please contact: Marianne Gould, Director of Music Ministry, at marianne@peacenb.org. We will get you signed up to TAKE A SEAT! |
Peace Prayer Clusters
Our Care Team joined together pondering how might we engage our community life together in this in-between time of pandemic “physical distancing” and our building renovation and returning to in-person activity. We want to begin with an intentional time of prayer connecting us to the Lord. Because when we are connected to God, we are naturally connected to God’s community. Therefore, we have divided the congregation into clusters of five households and are asking you to pray for each family in your cluster during the month of June and know that they will also be praying for you. Do you need to know these families? No, but feel free to contact them and introduce yourself. What do you pray for? You can simply lift up their names to God and trust that God knows their needs. You can get to know your cluster and ask specifically what needs you can share. What do I do if I haven’t received a prayer cluster invitation? Contact the church office at office@peacenb.org or 830-620-0618 and we can add you to our mailing list. Trust that we are brothers and sisters in Christ and that God is connecting us in deep ways through our prayers. I hope this deepens your prayer life and connections to God’s people. |

To check out this week's episode in our Shema Series, click on the title above. Explore the Hebrew word nephesh, often translated as "soul." The English word usually refers to a non-material essence of a human that survives after death, but nephesh means something different. It refers to humans as living, breathing, physical beings, or just to life itself. Prepare to be surprised at the biblical meaning of this fascinating word. Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
