Sunday's Preview
Read John 6: 51-58 In what would have been heard as a very strange teaching, Jesus tells his followers that they are to eat his flesh and drink his blood. Christians celebrate Holy Communion regularly as an act of worship. But what is really going on? What are we receiving in this sacramental act? Join us for worship this Sunday and share in the great feast. |
COVID UpdateTaking a Pause Video Message from Pastor Jake Covid hospitalizations have risen past our guideline threshold. Our church guidelines stipulate if we reach a 15% hospitalization rate in the area, we will refrain from indoor, in-person activities. As of August 9th, our regional hospitalization rate is at 17.83% with a sustained upward trajectory. What does this mean? We are taking a pause from large gatherings indoors. During this time our leadership will monitor and evaluate the ongoing crisis and provide more information as things develop. We continue online to worship, learn, pray, and check-in with one another. Outdoor activities may continue unabated. During this challenging period please feel free to reach out to the church office for any support. Remember you are the body of Christ and the church continues to share the good news of Jesus particularly in trying times. God's peace be with you, |

Back to School BlessingSunday, August 22 @ 10:00am livestream worship service As the new school year begins, we pray for all students, teachers, and staff at schools everywhere, that they may learn and grow in body, mind, and spirit. We pray for school campuses; pre-schools, elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities, that they may provide a safe and nurturing learning environment. During our livestreamed worship on Sunday, August 22nd, we will pray for all students, teachers, and staff, and especially those in our Peace family. Since we are not gathering in person, we will be delivering this year’s backpack tags to these children, youth and adults as reminder that our prayers go with them! |

Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
