Renovate GenerosityAnnual Stewardship Drive This fall we have been exploring the theme of renovation. Renovation requires assessment of what to build. As Christians we strive to build our lives on the firm foundation of Jesus. Stewardship allows us to examine where our gifts come from and how we can partner with God and each other in building his kingdom of peace. Take some time to fill out our Stewardship guide to help discern how God is calling you to be generous joining in this great renovation project of faith. You may fill this out online at www.peacenb.org/stewardship by Oct. 24th. Thank you for your generosity and willingness to be builders of God’s kingdom. |
Welcome to WorshipSunday, October 24 After eight long months, Peace Lutheran Church's building is getting close to normal! We capped off completion of most all construction and renovation this week by moving the church's 'stuff' from the pods in the parking lot back into their rightful home in the building. It truly is a blessing and a beautiful sight to see, and it comes as we continue to emerge from the pandemic fallout as well. If you have been worshipping from home, especially this year, perhaps this would be a good Sunday to come back to worship in person! Tour the building, enjoy a cup of coffee while talking to friends, join our Seekers & Sponges group discussion at 8:30 in the Fellowship Hall, and experience worship in a church setting once again! We look forward to seeing you all this Sunday! |
Worship and Life Group SeriesRECAP: "Renovate - Building a Life with God" If you’ve ever been part of a renovation project, you know how disruptive it can be. Your home is destroyed while the din of hammers and saws commence. But after that time of disruption, the results are a new and beautiful addition. This fall we launched a series called Renovate: Building a Life with God which began on September 12th and ran through October 17th. Each Sunday we had opportunities to dive deeper into what it means to build a life with God. We had a Community and Study time in the Fellowship Hall in which we watched a brief video clip and received a given prompt to consider. Our 10:00am worship service in the Sanctuary included a sermon series teaching on the book of Nehemiah in the Old Testament which deals with the Israelites' return from exile and the rebuilding of the Temple. Although the backdrop of the story is framed around the rebuilding of the Temple, the story also describes the rebuilding of the community itself. Although the series has concluded, the series' study guides and sermons are available on our Worship webpage HERE You may order the book HERE

Clergy Appreciation MonthAppreciate our Peace Leaders on Sunday, October 31 October is traditionally “Clergy” Appreciation Month and at Peace we have so much to be thankful for in Pastor Jake Fain and Deacon Andrew More. It has been a long eighteen plus months of pandemic, winter storm and renovation that has required leadership, creativity and just plain hard work. Therefore, this year we want to “shower” them with our appreciation and love. On Reformation Sunday, October 31st during the BBQ, we will offer special recognition. There will be baskets out for your cards, notes of appreciation and gifts. Please let’s “flood” them with our thanks! Questions? Comments? Contact Pastor Judi Miller, Worship Team Leader. |

COVID Weekly AnnouncementPHASE 1 Great news! The COVID hospitalization case count continues to trend downward below the 15% marker. As of October 18th our current rate of regional COVID hospitalization is at 6%. This means that we remain in our green light phase of covid protocols meaning we can ease back on our restrictions. We still highly promote safe-practices like getting vaccinated. However, we will be lifting masking and social distancing mandates and allowing folks to make those choices for themselves. Remember, just because we are below the 15% metric does not mean COVID is not still a risk. We always practice the discipleship call to love our neighbor as Jesus does. Stay safe and stay connected! Peace be with you.

Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
