Stewardship Snippet - October 31, 2021
"To love God with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself --this is much more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices."
Mark 12: 33
Church stewardship is often preoccupied with money, but what does God really want? Today’s Gospel explains it succinctly: Truly loving God and neighbor is worth more than offerings and sacrifices. When we achieve this kind of love, giving generously comes much more easily.

Seekers and Sponges Sunday Morning ClassMeeting @ 8:30 AM In-person and Zoom Join Seekers and Sponges on Sunday at 8:30am. - in-person @ Peace and on Zoom. Deacon Andrew will be leading our discussion this week as Seekers and Sponges continue to explore Luther: Gospel, Law, and Reformation. Our discussion each Sunday will be preceded by a video lecture given by Phillip Cary, Professor at Eastern University. Cary points out that while Martin Luther was only one man - a humble monk and Bible professor - he sparked a religious rebellion that changed the course of history. Who was he? What made his theology so explosive in 16th-century Europe? How did this late-medieval man launch the Protestant Reformation and help create the modern world as we know it? And how should we think of him: hero or heretic, rebel or tormented soul? Please join us for a discussion following the DVD lecture. This Sunday, we will be meeting by Zoom only - click the button below to join.

Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
