Stewardship Snippet - November 14, 2021
" You show me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore. "
Psalm 16:11
As we grow in spiritual maturity, steward/disciples learn ever more deeply the difference between the fleeting, shallow happiness the world offers and the rich, satisfying joy and pleasures of our life in God.

Seekers and Sponges Sunday Morning Class

Seekers and Sponges Sunday Morning Class

Meeting @ 8:30 AM In-person and Zoom

Join Seekers and Sponges on Sunday at 8:30am. - in-person @ Peace and on Zoom.

Seekers and Sponges will be discussing the "Augustinian paradigm of spirituality" as we continue our series Luther: Gospel, Law, and Reformation.  This lecture deals with the inner context for understanding Luther's experience of the gospel.  Our discussion each Sunday will be preceded by a video lecture given by Phillip Cary, Professor at Eastern University.  Cary points out that while Martin Luther was only one man - a humble monk and Bible professor - he sparked a religious rebellion that changed the course of history.  Who was he?  What made his theology so explosive in 16th-century Europe?  How did this late-medieval man launch the Protestant Reformation and help create the modern world as we know it?  And how should we think of him: hero or heretic, rebel or tormented soul?  Please join us for a discussion following the DVD  lecture.  We will be meeting in person at Peace and also by Zoom.

2021 Flower Sign up

Each Sunday a beautiful arrangement of fresh flowers, donated by members and friends of the congregation, adorns the cross in the chancel area of Peace Lutheran Church. A contract with “Petals To Go” Florist in New Braunfels assures timely delivery, quality, and consistency in the arrangements at a very reasonable cost of $40 per arrangement. Flowers may be donated for occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries, in honor or in memory of a loved one, or simply ”To the Glory of God!”  The arrangement may be picked up at the church during office hours the following week.  For questions, please contact Kathi Anderson (210) 643-8855, the Flower Coordinator for the Worship Team.

Three Expressions of the Church

We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
