Stewardship Snippet - January 2, 2022
" In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters."
Genesis 1: 1-2
Where do we come from? Where did anything come from? These first two verses of the whole Bible remind us that God created all that was, all that is, and all that will be. God made it all, even us, and everything belongs to God. That’s the first rule of stewardship.

There is no age or grade requirement – everyone is welcome! Whether your son or daughter has never tasted the bread and wine before, or has been communing for years, you all are welcome. Lunch will be served, so please RSVP to Deacon Andrew if possible. |

Seekers and Sponges Sunday Morning ClassMeeting @ 8:30 AM In-person and Zoom Join Seekers and Sponges on Sunday at 8:30am. - in-person @ Peace and on Zoom. Seekers and Sponges will continue our series Luther: Gospel, Law, and Reformation. This lecture deals with the inner context for understanding Luther's experience of the gospel. Our discussion each Sunday will be preceded by a video lecture given by Phillip Cary, Professor at Eastern University. Cary points out that while Martin Luther was only one man - a humble monk and Bible professor - he sparked a religious rebellion that changed the course of history. Who was he? What made his theology so explosive in 16th-century Europe? How did this late-medieval man launch the Protestant Reformation and help create the modern world as we know it? And how should we think of him: hero or heretic, rebel or tormented soul? Please join us for a discussion following the DVD lecture. We will be meeting in person at Peace and also by Zoom. Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
