***Stewardship Snippet - April 24, 2022***
" Praise the LORD! "
Psalm 150:1
You get the impression from Psalm 150 that praising God is not something you do, but rather something that steward disciples embody every minute of every day, every activity and every thought. How do you praise God? How can you do better?

Mission Spotlight of the Month - April 24, 2022Habitat for Humanity Peace will be collecting donations for Comal County Habitat for Humanity on April 24. Comal County Habitat for Humanity’s Mission: “Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. The need for their work will only increase as housing prices continue to creep (and sometimes leap) higher. In 2019 CCHFH saw an increased need for assistance with affordable home repairs for low income families. With support from the community, they expanded their services to include “repairs for deteriorating homes, allowing more of our neighbors to live in safe, decent shelter. There are many ways to show your support: “Lending a Hand Up, Not a Hand Out” https://www.comalhabitat.org/ In Person Worship Service attendees can drop off their donation at that time. Livestream Worship Service attendees can drop off donations in the church mailbox or mail their donation directly to the church. Please make your check out to Peace Lutheran Church and put Mission Spotlight in the memo. ***Giving online is always a great option as well. Go to the church website, peacenb.org, and click on the "Give" Tab. Choose Give from the dropdown menu and follow the instructions. Please remember to designate Mission Spotlight in the memo.*** |

Seekers and Sponges Sunday Morning ClassMeeting @ 8:30 AM In-person and Zoom Join Seekers and Sponges on Sunday at 8:30am. - in-person @ Peace and on Zoom. Seekers and Sponges will continue our series Luther: Gospel, Law, and Reformation. This lecture deals with the inner context for understanding Luther's experience of the gospel. Our discussion each Sunday will be preceded by a video lecture given by Phillip Cary, Professor at Eastern University. Cary points out that while Martin Luther was only one man - a humble monk and Bible professor - he sparked a religious rebellion that changed the course of history. Who was he? What made his theology so explosive in 16th-century Europe? How did this late-medieval man launch the Protestant Reformation and help create the modern world as we know it? And how should we think of him: hero or heretic, rebel or tormented soul? Please join us for a discussion following the DVD lecture. We will be meeting in person at Peace and also by Zoom. Exploring the Bible TogetherZoom Bible Study every Tuesday from 6:30pm -7:30pm In our “Exploring the Bible Together” study, we meet by Zoom as a small group for about 45 minutes each week. Our study covers a wide range of topics, examining more closely the history, content, context, development, message, and interpretation of the Bible. As we do this, we grow in our understanding of the relevance and application of the Bible for our lives today. Anyone is welcome to join us - no experience with Bible study (or even the Bible) is necessary!

Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
