Sunday's Worship PreviewCalled to Follow Read Acts 22: 1-21 The Apostle Paul had an origin story like all of us have one. He came from a real place and time shaped by the experiences he had. And though he was a violent persecutor of the early church, God used him to become the instrument of faith to share the gospel with the world. Join us on Sunday as we explore the beginnings of the life of Paul and his call story as we connect God’s call story for you. |
Journey with Paul
It can be reasonably argued no other human being apart from Jesus himself, has had a greater impact on the world than the Apostle Paul. Thirteen of the twenty-seven books of the New Testament are attributed to him, and one half of the Acts of the Apostles centers on his story. Today, one-third of the world’s population to his writings for spiritual direction, and ethical guidance. Paul, however, is a complex figure. Originally a persecutor of the early Christian movement, his spiritual encounter with Jesus transformed his life into the instrument of God’s mission to the world. Dedicating his life to following this resurrected Lord, Paul journeyed across land and sea to build communities and share the gospel message to the far reaches of the known world. This Fall, you are invited to journey with Paul and walk with him to experience the depth of faith and the missionary call we all have to both be transformed and to transform the world through the gospel of Jesus. Each week we will walk in Paul’s footsteps as we seek to hear that voice of Jesus calling us to be in mission with him. 9/18 Called to Follow Christ - click HERE for study guide In conjunction with this special worship series, I will offer a conversational Bible Study each Sunday in the Fellowship Hall from 8:45am-9:30am. Study guides will be shared weekly in the e-blast (click link above) and on Peace's website if you would like to host your own study or use for personal devotions. |
All Creation Sings
We have introduced a new, beautiful liturgy for worship. This is from the ELCA supplemental hymnal All Creation Sings. We have 65 new hymnals to use for musical notation. Although we use projection for words, musical notes do not project well due to the smaller size. Therefore, these hymnals will be available to help see and learn the new musical settings. If you’d like to listen to the music for worship in advance you may it online HERE. We will be worshipping with Setting 12. |

Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
