Sunday's Worship PreviewFish Read Matthew 4:12-23 Jesus begins his public ministry proclaiming the nearness of God’s reign. He begins by calling four fishermen to be his first disciples. The call comes in some ordinary places like fisherman mending their nets on the shoreline. In the same way, God meets us in the ordinary places of our lives. Surprisingly, the four fishermen leave everything behind, to follow Jesus. Come and join us on Sunday and hear the story of Jesus’ calling for you. |

Exploring the Bible TogetherZoom Bible Study every Tuesday from 6:30pm -7:30pm In our “Exploring the Bible Together” study, we meet by Zoom as a small group for about 45 minutes each week. Our study covers a wide range of topics, examining more closely the history, content, context, development, message, and interpretation of the Bible. As we do this, we grow in our understanding of the relevance and application of the Bible for our lives today.
This week, we began a new study series on the Gospel of Matthew. This church year the majority of our gospel readings will come from Matthew. It is a beautiful writing which shares the story of Jesus in a powerful way.
Anyone is welcome to join us - no experience with Bible study (or even the Bible) is necessary!

SEEKERS AND SPONGES: meets on Sunday mornings @ 8:30AM in-person and ZOOM Join Seekers and Sponges to discuss the DVD Series: "Embracing Emergence Christianity: Phyllis Tickle on the Church's Next Rummage Sale". Author, historian and keen cultural observer Phyllis Tickle invites us to join her in examining the changing face of Christianity and culture. Phyllis surveys 2000 years of Western history, identifying the great upheavals that occur in Western culture and Christianity every 500 years. The last was the Great Reformation of the 1500’s; the next is happening now. What are the implications of this “Great Emergence,” both culturally and spiritually? What are the key questions and issues that need to be addressed? Where might we be headed next? And, perhaps most importantly, where are you, at this moment? Might you be an emergence Christian? Each of the six sessions in this series begins with a 10 -15 minute video presentation by Phyllis Tickle and then our group will discuss her perspectives. Click HERE to join by Zoom. PEACE PRAYER MINISTRY: Did you make any resolutions for the New Year? Many of us have a desire to have a more intimate prayer life, so might I suggest carving out more time for prayer and reflection? Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
