Sunday's Worship PreviewYou Are Mine Jesus enters into the waters of the Jordan River and is baptized. The heavens open and God the Father declares Jesus as his beloved son. Baptism is one of the two sacraments of the church. Sacraments are a special way in which God becomes evident in our lives and bestows grace. It is the key identity marker – belonging to God. No other claim has such power. Therefore, no matter what happens in life, we return to baptismal promise as God speaks the words to us as well, “You are mine”. Join us on Sunday for worship as we remember the gift of baptism. |

Leadership Retreat
We invite you to pray for our Peace leaders who convene on Saturday for a retreat focused on discerning our vision, mission, and values. As part of our 2023 year of visioning, our leaders enter this time of intentional dreaming and listening to God’s voice and movement in this post-pandemic world. As you pray, please lift up God’s vision to become clearer that we might set a course as the church to follow where God guides us and join in the transformation of this world as the kingdom of God comes. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done. |

Exploring the Bible TogetherZoom Bible Study every Tuesday from 6:30pm -7:30pm In our “Exploring the Bible Together” study, we meet by Zoom as a small group for about 45 minutes each week. Our study covers a wide range of topics, examining more closely the history, content, context, development, message, and interpretation of the Bible. As we do this, we grow in our understanding of the relevance and application of the Bible for our lives today.
We have begun a new study series on the Gospel of Matthew. This church year the majority of our gospel readings will come from Matthew. It is a beautiful writing which shares the story of Jesus in a powerful way.
Anyone is welcome to join us - no experience with Bible study (or even the Bible) is necessary!

SEEKERS AND SPONGES: meets on Sunday mornings @ 8:30AM in-person and ZOOM Join Seekers and Sponges to discuss the DVD Series: "Embracing Emergence Christianity: Phyllis Tickle on the Church's Next Rummage Sale". Author, historian and keen cultural observer Phyllis Tickle invites us to join her in examining the changing face of Christianity and culture. Each of the six sessions in this series begins with a 10 -15 minute video presentation by Phyllis Tickle and then our group will discuss her perspectives. Beginning Sunday, Feb 26, Seekers and Sponges will start a new five part video series by Richard Rohr called 'Embracing an Alternative Orthodoxy'. In this series, Richard Rohr explores five topics central to Franciscan theology and practice: Each session starts with a video and then our class will discuss reflections from the talk. Our discussions are lively and bring out various perspectives about how faith impacts our lives. Please join us in the multimedia classroom at the end of the hallway. Your faith walk will be deepened as a result! Click HERE to join by Zoom. PEACE PRAYER MINISTRY: Did you make any resolutions for the New Year? Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
