Sunday's Worship PreviewTemptation After Jesus is baptized, the Spirit leads him into the wilderness where he is tempted for 40 days. We might call this his vision question. It turns out he indeed had a vision. And in that time he is tempted by different visions, that aren’t his (they come from the Tempter). Join us this Sunday as we enter into the wilderness of Lent on our vision question with Jesus. Listen to what sustained Jesus in this vulnerable time and place and how we might be sustained in our wilderness moments. |

Leadership Retreat
We celebrate our Peace leaders who convened last Saturday (2/18) for a retreat focused on discerning our vision, mission, and values. As part of our 2023 year of visioning, our leaders enter this time of intentional dreaming and listening to God’s voice and movement in this post-pandemic world. As you pray, please lift up God’s vision to become clearer that we might set a course as the church to follow where God guides us and join in the transformation of this world as the kingdom of God comes. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done. |

St. Baldrick’s Day Childhood Cancer ResearchSaturday, March 4 from 1pm-4pm Join Brody & Shannon Johnson and Nate Fain on Saturday March 4th at the Freiheit Country Store from 1pm-4pm to watch these three shave their heads. Why are we shaving our heads with St. Baldrick’s? Because with your donation “on our heads,” together, we can save lives. Research is hope for kids with cancer. St. Baldrick’s began when three Irish-Americans wanted to raise money to provide more resources for child cancer. They started it on St. Patrick’s Day and they decided they’d shave their heads to raise support. Hence, the name St. Baldrick stuck. Today it’s the largest nongovernmental funding for child cancer research sprawling across the countries with groups forming their own head-shaving venues. Your gift will give kids hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charitable funder of childhood cancer research grants. Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. Join the fight against childhood cancer. You can give, join the team, or show up on March 4th to cheer and support. Exploring the Bible TogetherZoom Bible Study every Tuesday from 6:30pm -7:30pm ***Please note: there will be no meeting on Tuesday, February 28. We will resume class on Tuesday, March 7***
In our “Exploring the Bible Together” study, we meet by Zoom as a small group for about 45 minutes each week. Our study covers a wide range of topics, examining more closely the history, content, context, development, message, and interpretation of the Bible. As we do this, we grow in our understanding of the relevance and application of the Bible for our lives today.
We have begun a new study series on the Gospel of Matthew. This church year the majority of our gospel readings will come from Matthew. It is a beautiful writing which shares the story of Jesus in a powerful way.
Anyone is welcome to join us - no experience with Bible study (or even the Bible) is necessary!

Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
