Abram and Sarai are called to move at a ripe old age into a whole new journey. They thought they were at the end of their lives, and yet God was just getting started with their biggest adventure ever.

 No matter where you are at in life, God has a call for you. Join us on Sunday in worship as we explore the call together and listen to the voice of God summoning us to something more beautiful than we can imagine.  

As a part of our visioning discernment together as a faith community, we are tuning into God’s dream for the world. Each week in Wednesday worship, we are asking a question for you to respond to. If you don’t have the opportunity to do that in worship, please fill out the google form HERE so that we can dream together and respond as God’s church with a unified vision. 

Our dreams are then put in a Word Cloud to be shared visually, as well as input to our Vision and Leadership Teams. The Word Cloud above are the dreams we shared on Ash Wednesday. 

Have you ever had a dream that you couldn’t quite remember? Maybe it took you some time to retrace the steps as it became clearer. God has a dream for this world. This Lent we are waking up and remembering God’s dream. 

Join us in person or livestream each Wednesday night in Lent at 6:30pm and let us dream together.

Each Wednesday service is preceded by a meal from 5:30pm - 6:15pm followed by worship @ 6:30pm.

Join Brody & Shannon Johnson and Nate Fain on Saturday March 4th at the Freiheit Country Store from 3:30pm-5pm to watch these three shave their heads. 

Why are we shaving our heads with St. Baldrick’s?  Because with your donation “on our heads,” together, we can save lives. Research is hope for kids with cancer.

St. Baldrick’s began when three Irish-Americans wanted to raise money to provide more resources for child cancer. They started it on St. Patrick’s Day and they decided they’d shave their heads to raise support. Hence, the name St. Baldrick stuck. Today it’s the largest nongovernmental funding for child cancer research sprawling across the countries with groups forming their own head-shaving venues.

Your gift will give kids hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charitable funder of childhood cancer research grants.

You are invited to participate in Peace Feast (a small group gathering for a meal and conversation to get to know one another). The host of the month will be in contact with you to determine the date, time, and location of a meal. It can be either at a restaurant or in a home.

The Buggy Barn Museum is located in the beautiful hill country of Blanco, Texas. Just 50 miles from almost all surrounding areas; the museum makes it a great place to escape for the day.

There are over 200 unique buggies, carriages and wagons with no two the same! Dating from the 1860s-1900s, you'll be sure to step back in time! Several buggies were used in movies such as the remake of True Grit, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, There Will Be Blood, The Redemption of Henry Myers, Deliverance Creek, Killers of the Flower Moon; the television series: Revolution, Underground and so much more!

We will visit the Museum and then find a place to have lunch.

Admission is $10.00 for Seniors. Meet at the church at 9:00 a.m. to carpool to Blanco.

What Is Lent and Holy Week?

Our Young Family group (families with elementary age and younger) will meet immediately after worship on March 19th to spend time learning about the season of Lent as well as the events and meaning of each part of Holy Week. Pastor Jake and Deacon Andrew will lead us in activities to explore this very important time of the church year and what Lent and Holy Week means to us as people who follow Jesus.  Lunch will be provided.

SEEKERS AND SPONGES:   meets on Sunday mornings @  8:30AM in-person and ZOOM  

Seekers and Sponges has started a new five part video series by Richard Rohr called  'Embracing an Alternative Orthodoxy'.  In this series, Richard Rohr explores five topics central to Franciscan theology and practice:
1.     Atonement Theory
2.     Eco-Spirituality
3.     The Christ who Existed before Christianity
4.     Orthopraxy vs. Verbal Orthodoxy (Living Like Jesus)
5.     Mysticism over Moralism

Each session starts with a video and then our class will discuss reflections from the talk. Our discussions are lively and bring out various perspectives about how faith impacts our lives.   Please join us in the multimedia classroom at the end of the hallway.  Your faith walk will be deepened as a result!

PEACE PRAYER MINISTRY:

Did you make any resolutions for the New Year? Many of us have a desire to have a more intimate prayer life, so might I suggest carving out more time for prayer and reflection? Peace Lutheran Church has an active Prayer Ministry. We have an Email Prayer Chain, we have a Zoom “Sweet Hour of Prayer” Group that meets every Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. and we have a Prayer loom that is included in our Sunday morning prayers. I would like to welcome new members to join our email Prayer Chain and our Monday morning Prayer Group. We have experienced some amazing, answered prayers this year and we have given comfort to many of our members in their times of distress.
