Sunday's Preview
Mark’s gospel does not begin with the Christmas story, rather it begins with John the Baptist crying out in the wilderness to turn to God. For much of life we spend turned facing the wrong direction. Life has its twists and turns that vies for our attention. Join us on Sunday as we discover how God turns us around to see where God is coming. |
Advent Wednesday WorshipLivestream & In person on December 2, 9 and 16 @ 7:00pm Presidents and Kings Click HERE for a video message. The incarnation is God’s way of coming among us. Each Advent season we enter a time of preparation to experience Jesus coming into our world once again. Messiah. Christ. Anointed One. King of kings. These are titles for God’s promised deliverer who would be born as the true ruler of the universe. Matthew begins by telling his Christmas story like this: “Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah took place this way.” (Matthew 1:18). That’s the intro. Jesus the Messiah. Luke says it with the angel announcing to the shepherds, “I am bringing you good news of great joy for all people: to you is born this day in the city of David, a savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11) It was important for the world to know who Jesus the Messiah is. Join us on Wednesday nights online or in-person as we worship this king who is like no other. |

Weekly Covid-19 Update
This week we are beginning to see a rise in COVID cases nation-wide as well as locally. With Thanksgiving gatherings behind us, we are expected to see our numbers continue to rise. Our Peace Regathering Guidelines are modeled after the State of Texas opening guidelines. Instead of using active cases, which have proven to be difficult to gauge, we are monitoring the percentage of hospitalizations. In this map you will see the highlighted area, Area P. This is an exceptionally large area which includes San Antonio. The current statistics as of December 1, 2020: Hospitalizations: 10.77% this number has been rising ~5.5% since 11/28. The Peace Regathering Team will be monitoring the daily COVID statistics and will continue to advise the church council on changes that impact our in-person worship services and church community. |
