Peace DialoguesSunday, February 21, 2021 at 12:30pm-1:30pm Join us for facilitated conversation from 12:30pm-1:30pm on Zoom as we wrestle with what it means to be church together in a complex world. Peace Dialogues is designed as a safe, grace-filled place for our church community to discuss various topics of inequality and injustices in our world today. Through dialogue with one another we hope to gracefully explore challenging and sometimes controversial topics in our search to see God's plan and hear God's call more clearly. This Sunday’s Peace Dialogues falls during Black History month. Our topic will be on race in America. We will ponder and discuss how we, as members of the Body of Christ and members of a predominately white denomination (over 95% of the members of the ELCA classify themselves as white (Pew Research 2014)), are called to address our historical and ongoing racism in America. It is through our reflections and listening to one another that we hope to listen for and hear God's call. For more information on "Peace Dialogues" visit our webpage HERE. |

Weekly COVID-19 Update
We continue in Phase 1 of our Regathering Guidelines. Hospitalization percentage in our area moved below 15% for the second week in a row. We are tracking members that we are aware of that have tested positive to date: · 1 death If you have tested positive or know of anyone within our congregation that has tested positive, please notify the church promptly. We will be doing contract tracing and let others know of who might be at risk. Additionally, we would like to support our church family with care. In this map you will see the highlighted area, Area P. This is an exceptionally large area which includes San Antonio. The current statistics as of February 16, 2021: Hospitalizations: 12.67%. We had a decrease an additional 2.32% in a week's time. Numbers are steadily decreasing. The Peace Regathering Team will be monitoring the daily COVID statistics and will continue to advise the church council on changes that impact our in-person worship services and church community. Our Peace Regathering Guidelines are modeled after the State of Texas opening guidelines. Instead of using active cases, which have proven to be difficult to gauge, we are monitoring the percentage of hospitalizations. |

Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
