Read Mark 4: 35-41

The sea in the Bible is a chaotic place filled with evil spirits. Jesus’ calming of the storm on the sea reveals his power over evil. The boat on the sea is a symbol of the church and invites us to trust God amid life’s turbulence.

What are the storms you have faced this past year?

Does it ever feel like Jesus is asleep in the boat during the storm?

The good news is that Jesus gets in the boat with us and has power over the biggest storms.  “Peace.  Be Still.”  Know that Jesus is with you.  

8am worship in the Peace parking lot in your car using a broadcast on a radio frequency.

10am worship on the front lawn livestreamed or outdoor, in-person.  Bring your own chair.   If there is inclement weather, this service will be available only online and the church will send out a notice - or you can check the front page of the website @ www.peacenb.org

Summer is finally here, and that means (among other things) Vacation Bible School!   Click the button below for a link to registration for VBS 2021, the week of June 21st – 25th, from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm on Zoom each evening. We will be delivering VBS supply kits to every family who registers in advance, so be sure to sign up! Please register regardless of the number of evenings you anticipate joining us. The registration also includes the Zoom link for the week.

Our VBS theme this year is “Following Jesus: I’m A Disciple!”  With stories, puppets, videos, songs, and special guests, we will learn about ways we can follow Jesus in our daily lives. Each night we will focus on a different discipleship practice: I Pray ~   I Worship ~   I Learn ~   I Give ~   I Serve  

Important privacy note! This will be a virtual Zoom VBS, and we will be recording it each evening in order to make it available to those who are not able to join us live. If you do not want your children’s name or video to be recorded, please turn off your video when you join Zoom and/or change the name on the thumbnail. We respect everyone’s privacy and want to be sure we can have a safe and fun VBS together!!!  

Also, mark your calendars for our VBS picnic on Saturday, June 26th from 10 am – 2 pm at Landa Park. We will be sending out a separate Eventbrite registration specifically for the picnic so we know how much food to prepare.   We are looking forward to our awesome VBS week together as we explore ways that we can follow Jesus in our daily lives!     

Come join us after the Parking Lot Worship Service or come early before the 10:00am Outdoor Worship Service. Special music will be provided for your enjoyment.  All COVID precautions will be taken.  See you there!

Join us for a Service of Prayer and Healing at NB Presbyterian Church to give thanks and to support Peace Lutheran Church Council members, Staff and Ministry Team Leaders. 

The past 16 months have been challenging, expecially for our Leadership.  These months have been filled with challenges, losses and grief.  Now, as we prepare to be back in our sacred worship space, we pray for focus on healing and hope for our Leadership as they continue the mission of the church.

Would you like to help a musician with worship?  Peace Lutheran is looking for youth in the congregation who would like to TAKE A SEAT! sitting next to either Jeannie or Marianne during worship while we play the piano. 

You would be able to help us get our music for the worship service in order by going through the bulletin together, handing the music to us so we can be ready to play at the appropriate time, and possibly even turn pages.  We also occasionally need someone to chase down the music that the wind blows off the keyboard.

Our Care Team joined together pondering how might we engage our community life together in this in-between time of pandemic “physical distancing” and our building renovation and returning to in-person activity. 

We want to begin with an intentional time of prayer connecting us to the Lord.  Because when we are connected to God, we are naturally connected to God’s community.  Therefore, we have divided the congregation into clusters of five households and are asking you to pray for each family in your cluster during the month of June and know that they will also be praying for you. 

Do you need to know these families?  No, but feel free to contact them and introduce yourself. 

What do you pray for?  You can simply lift up their names to God and trust that God knows their needs.  You can get to know your cluster and ask specifically what needs you can share. 

What do I do if I haven’t received a prayer cluster invitation?  Contact the church office at office@peacenb.org or 830-620-0618 and we can add you to our mailing list.

Trust that we are brothers and sisters in Christ and that God is connecting us in deep ways through our prayers.  I hope this deepens your prayer life and connections to God’s people. 

Seekers and Sponges - 8:30am
Join Seekers and Sponges on Sunday at 8:30 am via Zoom.  We have been discussing a series of video presentations, "Great Figures of the New Testament" by Amy-Jill Levine, who is University Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies at Vanderbilt Divinty School.  Each week is a stand alone lecture, so feel free to join in any week you would like.  This Sunday our topic will be The Christ of Faith. 

Sweet Hour of Prayer Group
Our weekly Prayer Group Zooms every Monday at 9:00 am. We have a devotion, share prayer requests and pray over each request. The group is led by Becky Voges.
