Stewardship Snippet - September 5, 2021
"If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill," and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that?"
James 2: 15
For many of us who have more than we need, it’s very hard to follow Jesus’ command to love our neighbor as ourselves. The questions steward/disciples have to ask prayerfully are, “How generous am I, really? Is God calling me to be more generous?”

For those who want to attend in person when gathering guidelines permit, we will meet in the church conference room, but space is limited. This week we will be continuing the discussion from last week's topic, "Finding Your Treasure." The suggested reading for "Finding Your Treasure" is from Matthew 6: 6--7: 5. Exploring the Bible TogetherTUESDAYS @ 6:30pm Join Pastor Jake Fain, Deacon Andrew More, and Pastor Paul Miller as we explore the Bible together. To check out this week's episode, click on the title above. In the story of the Bible, God is depicted as a generous host who provides for the needs of his guests. However, humans live from a mindset of scarcity and hoard God’s many gifts. In this video, we explore God’s plan for overcoming our selfishness by giving the ultimate gift of himself in the person of Jesus. To watch last week's video "The Way of the Exile" click HERE Go to https://bibleproject.com

Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
