Sunday's PreviewWhat to Know Before You Build Renovating a house can be an exciting and rewarding experience, even when you hit a few bumps along the way. In the same way, God can renovate your life by altering the ‘old you’ and creating a ‘new you.’ It’s never easy, of course, and you may experience some disarray, but renovating with God is the opportunity of a lifetime. Besides, what is more valuable than people and their hearts to God? Join us in worship as we explore the book of Nehemiah and the physical and spiritual renovation experienced by the people of Israel. Nehemiah knew that his plan for renovating the wall and gates of Jerusalem would be hard work. But equally hard would be the spiritual renovation of the Jewish people as they returned to their homeland. Thankfully, spiritual renovation is not a do-it-yourself project. We need God's great power working through us to renovate our lives by the power of the Holy Spirit. This week we are exploring “What to Know Before You Build”. If you’ve ever built something, you don’t just start building; there’s some preparation work required. Let’s prepare our hearts this Sunday for God to work on us. |
COVID Weekly AnnouncementCHANGE TO PHASE 1 Great news! The COVID hospitalization case count is trending downward below the 15% marker. As of September 21st our current rate of regional COVID hospitalization is at 13.62%. This means we can now enter our green light phase of covid protocols meaning we can ease back on some of our restrictions. We still highly promote safe-practices like getting vaccinated. However, we will be lifting masking and social distancing mandates and allowing folks to make those choices for themselves. Remember, just because we are below the 15% metric does not mean COVID is not still a risk. We always practice the discipleship call to love our neighbor as Jesus does. Stay safe and stay connected! Peace be with you.

New Worship and Life Group SeriesRenovate: Building a Life with God Order the Book HERE If you’ve ever been part of a renovation project, you know how disruptive it can be. Your home is destroyed while the din of hammers and saws commence. But after that time of disruption, the results are a new and beautiful addition. Join us this fall as we begin a new series called Renovate: Building a Life with God beginning on September 12th and running through October 17th. Each Sunday you’ll have opportunities to dive deeper into what it means to build a life with God. Please note our shedule has changed: 8:30am – Community and study time in the Fellowship Hall in which we will watch a brief video clip and receive a given prompt to consider. 10am – Worship time in the sanctuary with a sermon series teaching on the book of Nehemiah in the Old Testament which deals with the Israelites' return from exile and the rebuilding of the Temple. Although the backdrop of the story is framed around the rebuilding of the Temple, the story also describes the rebuilding of the community itself. You may join in-person or online. Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
