Seekers and Sponges Sunday Morning ClassSunday, October 18 - 9:00 AM Deacon Andrew will be joining us to lead the discussion of the DVD series "How Lutherans Interpret the Bible" by Dr. Mark Allan Powell, a Lutheran pastor and Bible professor at Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio. In this 7 session DVD series Powell invites you to explore seven important questions about Lutherans and the Bible. He does not prescribe “the Lutheran way" to read the Bible nor does he dismiss the way you may have come to understand the Bible. Instead Powell presents a variety of Lutheran perspectives for interpreting the Bible. Through Powell's rich discussions you will discover answers to questions you have always had about the Bible.
Deacon Andrew comments that he has come to value the series "as an essential, even foundational topic for Lutheran congregations. It is helpful for folks new to Lutheranism and lifelong Lutherans alike. It always generates excellent discussion and provides a framework that people find very helpful as they deepen their study of the Bible." We will be discussing the 7 session series over the next 2 - 3 months, but you may join at any point in the series.
Join us this Sunday for Session 1: The Word of God.

Exploring the Bible TogetherTuesday Night at 6:30 PM Join Pastor Jake Fain, Deacon Andrew More, and Pastor Paul Miller as we explore the Bible together. The wisest king of Israel, King Solomon, is associated with three books of the Bible: Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Songs. Each book offers a unique perspective on how humans can rule with wisdom and the fear of the Lord. In this video, we briefly explore how the message of each book fits into the overall story of the Bible. Go to https://bibleproject.com
Exploring The Bible Zoom Bible Study
Each Tuesday from 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm we will have an open discussion of one of the Bible Project videos. This week it will be helpful for you to watch the YouTube video of episode 15 (above) first, but not required. We’ll spend about 30 minutes unpacking the video and opening it up for questions, insights, comments, etc. This link will work for all subsequent Tuesdays, so keep it handy. Anyone is welcome to join us! No experience with Bible study (or even the Bible) is necessary! Join us as we explore the Bible together!
