Peace Dialogues - THIS SUNDAY!Sunday, October 25, 2020 Join us for our third discussion in a series of "Peace Dialogues" via Zoom on Sunday, October 25, from noon to 1:00pm. During our conversations together, several facilitators will guide us as we explore what it means to listen compassionately, and discuss what it means to engage in loving, peaceful, productive dialogue even in the midst of disagreement. For this Sunday’s "Peace Dialogues" we will be using material from the Kaleidescope Institute titled, “Race and Children”. We will examine how perception of race begins in childhood, and how developing awareness of these influences can help us become more sensitive and responsive to issues surrounding race as adults. For more information on "Peace Dialogues" visit our webpage HERE. For more infomation visit:

Seekers and Sponges Sunday Morning ClassSunday 9:00 AM Deacon Andrew will be leading a discussion of the DVD series "How Lutherans Interpret the Bible" by Dr. Mark Allan Powell, a Lutheran pastor and Bible professor at Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio. This is a 7 session DVD series in which Dr. Powell invites you to explore seven important questions about Lutherans and the Bible. He does not prescribe “the Lutheran way" to read the Bible nor does he dismiss the way you may have come to understand the Bible. Instead Dr. Powell presents a variety of Lutheran perspectives for interpreting the Bible. Through Dr. Powell's rich discussions you will discover answers to questions you have always had about the Bible.
We will be discussing the 7 session series over the next 2 - 3 months, but you may join at any point in the series. You may review Episode 1 "The Word of God" HERE. In this episode, Dr. Powell explains what we mean when we say that the Bible is “the word of God”, to recognize that the Bible tells us what God wants to say to us, and to appreciate that Lutherans do have a particular approach to understanding the Bible.

Exploring the Bible TogetherTuesday Night at 6:30 PM Join Pastor Jake Fain, Deacon Andrew More, and Pastor Paul Miller as we explore the Bible together. It’s the apocalypse! But what exactly does that mean? The Bible is filled with dreams and visions about human history coming to a climax, and they’re usually packed with intense imagery and strange symbols. In this video we’ll explore the meaning of the word “apocalypse” in the Bible, and we’ll learn some basic steps for reading this literature with more wisdom and insight. Go to https://bibleproject.com
Exploring The Bible Zoom Bible Study
Each Tuesday from 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm we will have an open discussion of one of the Bible Project videos. This week it will be helpful for you to watch the YouTube video of episode 16 (above) first, but not required. We’ll spend about 30 minutes unpacking the video and opening it up for questions, insights, comments, etc. This link will work for all subsequent Tuesdays, so keep it handy. Anyone is welcome to join us! No experience with Bible study (or even the Bible) is necessary! Join us as we explore the Bible together!
