Last Call! The Peace Day Trippers are heading to the Shiner Brewery tomorrow--Thursday, July 21.

What can you do on a very hot day?  Meet new friends, tour a very cool Brewery and enjoy your sack lunch at Shiner Lutheran Church. Call Becky Voges today at 830-587-4003 to let her know you are coming.   The Day Trippers will carpool from the Church, leaving the church at 9:00 a.m.   Or you may meet us there (603 E Brewery St, Shiner, TX 77984) at 11:15am.  

The tour cost is $20 per person, payable at the brewery when we get there.  The tour can accommodate only 20 people..... call Becky Voges at 830-587-4003 to  make a reservation.

Each year the SWT Synod meets to share in the ministry of the 120 ELCA congregations in the southwestern Texas region. This year we met in New Braunfels from June 10-12.

The Peace Little Pantry is open and ready for service on Peace's front lawn next to the driveway.  There is a bench under the tree, an ice chest with bottled water and a wooden prayer box for prayer requests.  A Dedication and Ribbon Cutting for the Little Pantry will be held on Sunday, September 11 as part of Peace's Ministry Fair Day.

We have been blessed by many generous donations to help us get started with our new ministry.  We have contacted local agencies and churches to let them know about the Pantry.  Our "Pantry Angels" will pick a month to monitor the Pantry, checking the pantry and restocking it as needed.

Special "thank-you's" to Dave Keeler and Wil Voges for bulding the Little Pantry and John Kassel and Dave Thomas for placing it in the ground in the sweltering July heat.    

Snapology is an interactive camp meant to teach kids STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills through play. The program offers a wide variety of programs for children ages 5-14.... from fun LEGO-themed programs to robotics to engineering to animation. 

Peace is partnering with Snapology for the summer, hosting its programming efforts as an outreach to the community.

Seekers and Sponges' Sunday discussion is based on Triumph of Christianity, by Bart Ehrman, which looks at the history of the establishment and growth of Christianity thru the ages. We are no longer meeting in the Fellowship Hall (we will be meeting in our regular classroom).

Sweet Hour of Prayer Group - meeting via Zoom, no in-person meeting 
Our weekly Prayer Group Zooms every Monday at 9:00 am.  We will be meeting via Zoom only.   We have a devotion, share prayer requests and pray over each request. The group is led by Becky Voges. We are in need of 2 (two) singers to lead the congregation in singing during the Sunday morning worship service.  

We would also like to see people sign up to provide special music.  This would entail preparing a special musical offering to share.  This offering can be instrumental, bells, solo, duet, etc.  Please provide the name of the music and all copyright information when signing up.  The deadline to sign up is one week before the date of your performance.
