Called to Go

Read Galatians 1: 15-2:10

After Paul’s conversion he does not immediately go and become a missionary and start writing the New Testament. He spends 14 years processing what his encounter with Jesus meant as God was preparing him for the journey ahead.

Join us on Sunday as we explore the beginnings of the life of Paul and his “in-between” years and what that means for us.

Blessing of the Animals

In commemoration of the Feast of St. Francis, we celebrate a Blessing of Animals on Oct. 2nd at the 10:00am worship on the front lawn. Friendly pets (or pictures of your pets) are encouraged to join in this special outdoor worship service.  We ask that they be on leashes, in carriers, in bowls, or restrained for their safety and proximity to Walnut Ave.

This worship will also be livestreamed, so if you are joining us online, feel free to bring your pet to the screen and receive a blessing as well.

Journey with Paul

Journey with Paul

It can be reasonably argued no other human being apart from Jesus himself, has had a greater impact on the world than the Apostle Paul.

Thirteen of the twenty-seven books of the New Testament are attributed to him, and one half of the Acts of the Apostles centers on his story.

Today, one-third of the world’s population to his writings for spiritual direction, and ethical guidance.

Paul, however, is a complex figure. Originally a persecutor of the early Christian movement, his spiritual encounter with Jesus transformed his life into the instrument of God’s mission to the world. Dedicating his life to following this resurrected Lord, Paul journeyed across land and sea to build communities and share the gospel message to the far reaches of the known world.

This Fall, you are invited to journey with Paul and walk with him to experience the depth of faith and the missionary call we all have to both be transformed and to transform the world through the gospel of Jesus.

Each week we will walk in Paul’s footsteps as we seek to hear that voice of Jesus calling us to be in mission with him.

Three Expressions of the Church

We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
