Sunday's Preview
Each year we begin the Epiphany season with the Baptism of our Lord reading. Jesus is baptized in the Jordan River inaugurating his mission of salvation. Baptism is a central sacrament in the life of the church precisely because it calls us into this same mission claiming us in a new identity. Nothing else has claim to you besides The Father, Son, and Holy Spirt, and yet with that claim comes responsibilities to serve the Living Lord. Join us on Sunday as we explore the gift of God’s amazing gift of baptism. |

Weekly COVID-19 Update
We continue in Phase 1 of our Regathering Guidelines as hospitalization percentage moves over 20%. Comal county has now moved into limiting businesses to 50% occupancy as well. On a positive note, COVID cases in our congregation continue to stabilize. We are tracking members that we are aware of that have tested positive to date: · 3 active cases – one in ICU, one recovering at home and one in rehab If you have tested positive or know of anyone within our congregation that has tested positive, please notify the church promptly. We will be doing contract tracing and let others know of who might be at risk. In this map you will see the highlighted area, Area P. This is an exceptionally large area which includes San Antonio. The current statistics as of January 5, 2021: Hospitalizations: 20.84% this number continues to rise in our area. With Christmas gatherings and New Year’s celebration behind us, we expect the positivity rate to continue to climb through January. The Peace Regathering Team will be monitoring the daily COVID statistics and will continue to advise the church council on changes that impact our in-person worship services and church community. Our Peace Regathering Guidelines are modeled after the State of Texas opening guidelines. Instead of using active cases, which have proven to be difficult to gauge, we are monitoring the percentage of hospitalizations. |

Exploring the Bible TogetherZoom on Tuesdays @ 6:30PM Luke-Acts Episode 7 The Apostle Paul Acts 8-12 Join Pastor Jake Fain, Deacon Andrew More, and Pastor Paul Miller as we explore the Bible together. We are currently discussing a Luke-Acts series of videos. The books of Luke and Acts are actually two accompanying works by the same author. Together, they form one cohesive narrative about the life and ministry of Jesus and the birth of the early Church. Check out this week's episode by clicking on the title above to view Episode 7 The Apostle Paul Acts 8-12. Acts 8-12 explores how God’s Spirit transformed Jesus’ followers from a small collective of messianic Jews in Jerusalem, into a multi-ethnic movement that quickly spread throughout the nations. If you would like to watch last week's episode Luke-Acts Episode 6 Pentecost Acts 1-7, click HERE. Go to https://bibleproject.com Exploring The Bible Zoom Bible Study
Each Tuesday from 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm we will have an open discussion of one of the Bible Project videos. This week it will be helpful for you to watch the YouTube video of Luke-Acts Episode 7 above first, but not required. We’ll spend about 30 minutes unpacking the video and opening it up for questions, insights, comments, etc. This link will work for all subsequent Tuesdays, so keep it handy. Anyone is welcome to join us! No experience with Bible study (or even the Bible) is necessary! Join us as we explore the Bible together!
