Stewardship Snippet - October 3, 2021
" What are human beings that you [Lord] are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them? You have given them dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under their feet."
Psalm 8: 4, 6
God gives us dominion over God’s creation, which means we’re in charge. But that also means we have a duty to treat the created world respectfully and use its resources responsibly. How do you think we’re doing? As steward-disciples, how can we do better?

New Worship and Life Group SeriesRenovate: Building a Life with God Order the Book HERE If you’ve ever been part of a renovation project, you know how disruptive it can be. Your home is destroyed while the din of hammers and saws commence. But after that time of disruption, the results are a new and beautiful addition. Join us this fall as we begin a new series called Renovate: Building a Life with God beginning on September 12th and running through October 17th. Each Sunday you’ll have opportunities to dive deeper into what it means to build a life with God. Please note our schedule has changed: 8:30am – Community and Study time in the Fellowship Hall in which we will watch a brief video clip and receive a given prompt to consider. You may join in-person or online. 10am – Worship time in the sanctuary with a sermon series teaching on the book of Nehemiah in the Old Testament which deals with the Israelites' return from exile and the rebuilding of the Temple. Although the backdrop of the story is framed around the rebuilding of the Temple, the story also describes the rebuilding of the community itself. Click HERE for more details and a schedule. Weekly study guides and live replays of each week's Sunday sermon can be found on Peace's Worship webpage. Exploring the Bible TogetherTUESDAYS @ 6:30pm The Public Reading of Scripture Join Pastor Jake Fain, Deacon Andrew More, and Pastor Paul Miller as we explore the Bible together. To check out this week's episode, click on the title above. The public reading of Scripture was a key aspect of faith in ancient times largely because few people knew how to read, meaning that it was their primary access to Scripture. So Paul and other apostles were routinely reading Scripture aloud. But this practice was also an important ritual for Jewish and Christian people. Though it is not as common today, it’s a practice that can connect us to a legacy of faith and our identity within the family of God. To watch last week's video "Sabbath" click HERE Go to https://bibleproject.com
Exploring The Bible Zoom Bible Study
Each Tuesday from 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm we will have an open discussion of one of the Bible Project videos. This week it will be helpful, but not required, for you to watch the YouTube video above, The Public Reading of Scripture. We’ll spend about 30 minutes unpacking the video and opening it up for questions, insights, comments, etc. This link will work for all subsequent Tuesdays, so keep it handy. Anyone is welcome to join us! No experience with Bible study (or even the Bible) is necessary! Join us as we explore the Bible together!

Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
