Sunday's PreviewInviting Others to Come Home Home is more than just a place. Our home is foundational to our sense of safety, security, belonging, and identity. So much of who we are is tied to our home. It is where memories are made, and life is shared with those we love. Imagine having your home destroyed by a disaster and being forced to live elsewhere. Everything that is comfortable, familiar, and secure is gone, and the pain of being displaced is devastating. Now imagine being finally able to return home after the disaster has long passed, things have been rebuilt, and your home is once again ready for you and your family to inhabit. What emotions would such a celebration bring? What things would feel familiar? What things might feel different? My guess is that one of the first things you’d want to do is to throw a big celebration and invite friends, neighbors, and family to join you in giving thanks for your return home. Nehemiah and the Jewish people could certainly relate! Join us online or in person this Sunday as our “Renovate” series continues this week as we explore what it means to “return home”.

COVID Weekly AnnouncementCHANGE TO PHASE 1 Great news! The COVID hospitalization case count is trending downward below the 15% marker. As of October 4th our current rate of regional COVID hospitalization is at 10%. This means that we have entered our green light phase of covid protocols meaning we can ease back on some of our restrictions. We still highly promote safe-practices like getting vaccinated. However, we will be lifting masking and social distancing mandates and allowing folks to make those choices for themselves. Remember, just because we are below the 15% metric does not mean COVID is not still a risk. We always practice the discipleship call to love our neighbor as Jesus does. Stay safe and stay connected! Peace be with you.

New Worship and Life Group SeriesRenovate: Building a Life with God Order the Book HERE If you’ve ever been part of a renovation project, you know how disruptive it can be. Your home is destroyed while the din of hammers and saws commence. But after that time of disruption, the results are a new and beautiful addition. Join us this fall as we begin a new series called Renovate: Building a Life with God beginning on September 12th and running through October 17th. Each Sunday you’ll have opportunities to dive deeper into what it means to build a life with God. Please note our shedule has changed: 8:30am – Community and study time in the Fellowship Hall in which we will watch a brief video clip and receive a given prompt to consider. 10am – Worship time in the sanctuary with a sermon series teaching on the book of Nehemiah in the Old Testament which deals with the Israelites' return from exile and the rebuilding of the Temple. Although the backdrop of the story is framed around the rebuilding of the Temple, the story also describes the rebuilding of the community itself. You may join in-person or online. Click HERE for more details and a schedule. Please visit our Worship webpage for the Series' sermons and study guides.

Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
