Sunday's PreviewCrying and Building Renovating a house can be an exciting and rewarding experience, even when you hit a few bumps along the way. In the same way, God can renovate your life by altering the ‘old you’ and creating a ‘new you.’ It’s never easy, of course, and you may experience some disarray, but renovating with God is the opportunity of a lifetime. Besides, what is more valuable than people and their hearts to God? Join us in worship as we explore the book of Nehemiah and the physical and spiritual renovation experienced by the nation of Judah. Nehemiah knew that his plan for renovating the wall and gates of Jerusalem would be hard work. But equally hard would be the spiritual renovation of the Jewish people as they returned to their homeland. Thankfully, spiritual renovation is not a do-it-yourself project. We need God's great power working through us to renovate our lives by the power of the Holy Spirit. We discovered the first week that it is never too late to renovate. This week, we recognize that building, changing and growing often come at a painful price…and there may be a few (or many??) tears shed in the process. These tears can’t and won’t stop us from renovating! |

New Worship and Life Group SeriesRenovate: Building a Life with God Order the Book HERE If you’ve ever been part of a renovation project, you know how disruptive it can be. Your home is destroyed while the din of hammers and saws commence. But after that time of disruption, the results are a new and beautiful addition. Join us this fall as we begin a new series called Renovate: Building a Life with God beginning on September 12th and running through October 17th. Each Sunday you’ll have opportunities to dive deeper into what it means to build a life with God. 9am – Community time in the Fellowship Hall in which we will watch a brief video clip and receive a given prompt to consider. 10am – Worship time in the sanctuary with a sermon series teaching on the book of Nehemiah in the Old Testament which deals with the Israelites return from exile and rebuilding the Temple. Although the backdrop of the story is framed around the rebuilding of the Temple, the story also describes the rebuilding of the community itself. 5pm – Return to the Peace Fellowship Hall for small group, facilitated learning opportunities. Exploring the Bible TogetherTUESDAYS @ 6:30pm Join Pastor Jake Fain, Deacon Andrew More, and Pastor Paul Miller as we explore the Bible together. To check out this week's episode click on the title above. What is the good news of the Gospel really all about? One of the first times we see mention of the Gospel of the Kingdom is in Isaiah. Isaiah talks about a messenger running toward the destroyed city of Jerusalem proclaiming the good news that their God is still King. The messenger says that God himself would one day return to the city to set up his Kingdom and bring peace to the land. To watch last week's video "Justice" click HERE Go to https://bibleproject.com Exploring The Bible Zoom Bible Study
Each Tuesday from 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm we will have an open discussion of one of the Bible Project videos. This week it will be helpful, but not required, for you to watch the YouTube video above, Gospel of the Kingdom. We’ll spend about 30 minutes unpacking the video and opening it up for questions, insights, comments, etc. This link will work for all subsequent Tuesdays, so keep it handy. Anyone is welcome to join us! No experience with Bible study (or even the Bible) is necessary! Join us as we explore the Bible together!

Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
